I have received the following information and wanted to share it with you ... so here it goes //: Actor Scott Bakula, star of Star Trek and Quantum Leap TV shows, will address a National Press Club luncheon in Washington, D.C., on April 19th at 12:30 p.m. Bakula will speak about his leading role in a Ford's Theater Civil War presentation. A Tony nominee and Golden Globe winner, Bakula has returned to the stage in a revival of the musical Shenandoah. Bakula stars as Charlie Anderson, a Southern patriarch who wants none of the Civil War and fights to keep his sons out of the battle. ```The message of `Shenandoah' affects us all,'' wrote Jayne Blanchard of the Washington Times. “Shenandoah”….``...no matter if we choose to support our military's efforts or not, is stirring and stunningly relevant today to a battle-fatigued America.'' Bakula is best known for his roles in the Star Trek series Enterprise NX-01 and Quantum Leap, for which he earned a Golden Globe for best actor and four Emmy nominations. He has appeared in such feature films as American Beauty, My Life as a House, and Lord of Illusions. The National Press Club was established in 1908 to promote free speech and professional journalistic standards. Luncheons provide a national forum for the views of Presidents, Prime Ministers, business and cultural leaders, members of the Cabinet and Congress. NPC luncheons televised on C-Span.
